Project Description: MIELKE was contracted to upgrade the hot water and chilled water systems serving NASA’s Building 142 at the Glenn Research Center. This project required the complete demolition and removal of the existing chillers, boilers and associated piping.  A new boiler plant and new site chilled water piping was installed along with extensive new interior piping systems. The project included several mission critical shutdowns and tie-ins which were carefully planned, rescheduled and re-planned around multiple space shuttle launches.  MIELKE received ABC National’s Pyramid award for our work on this nationally significant project.
