Project Description: This project was an expansion to a long-time client’s meat processing & packaging facility. The facility handles each phase of meat processing from slaughtering to processing, custom butchering, packaging and even retail sales. This new addition is 130′ wide x 38′ long and was designed and manufactured by Varco Pruden. The new building was erected over the top of the existing structure. Construction began in late June and was completed by November. The retail store was only closed for two weeks at the end of August. MIELKE self performed the steel erection, demolition, interior finishes and also served as the general contractor. This job utilized several finishes including texture siding, IMP, cultured stone and reclaimed barn siding; illustrating the architectural versatility possible by utilizing a pre-engineered building structure.
